Cutting Board Care

Cutting boards come in an exhausting variety of sizes, shapes and materials so how do you decide which one is right for you?  The last thing you want to do is spend your hard earned money on an end-grain over sized cutting board that you never use because it’s just not practical to cut your nightly apple.  At the same time, plastic cutting boards are not ideal if you have your cleaver out everyday prepping dinner for a large family. When you choose your cutting board, you’ll want to consider your needs, your kitchen layout, storage, material choice, knife selection, etc.

Of course, once you buy your cutting board you need to know how to properly care for it.  Some cutting boards can conveniently be tossed in the dishwasher while others will need to be hand cleaned, sanitized and even oiled.  There’s a lot to know about cutting board safety  and we’re here to help you out!  Making the right decisions will enhance your time in the kitchen.  After all, a cutting board is the foundation of a happy and healthy kitchen.
